Tobe Nwigwe Location: White Oak Music Hall - Houston, TX Concert Date: April 20, 2019 Photography by Violeta Alvarez Creative feature by Ky Meyer HOUSTON, Texas - Tobe Nwigwe, a Houston native, held his biggest concert a setting that really brought it all together: the lawn at White Oak Music Hall. This performance was the final show of his nationwide "Tobe from the SWAT" tour. Nwigwe revitalized new life into the hip hop genre by incorporating avant garde experimental verses, sounds, and visuals; this was particularly evident that night under the stars. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner made a surprise appearance and declared April 20th Tobe Nwigwe Day in Houston, Texas. Nwigwe shared the stage with his wife Fat and sister Nell, demonstrating mutual love and support for one other. Nwigwe is a Houston artist deserving of worldwide recognition.
