Ky Meyer is a television veteran with nearly two decades in front and behind the camera. Her love for people and storytelling has taken her all over the country, creating a well-known platform of creativity and dynamic digital content. She's also a proud new mom to her adorable son, Kobe.
Ky grew up in Washington state and graduated with honors from Eastern Washington University. Once into her TV career, she spent time in New York, Miami, Seattle and Los Angeles before moving to Houston. She's taken the lead with such award-winning roles as prime time news anchor and reporter, executive producer, writer, radio personality, TV host, photographer and digital content curator/creator.
Back in 2010, Ky moved to Houston, Texas to develop and launch the country’s first ever non-traditional, anchor-less news program called Newsfix. What started as a prime time show on Houston’s CW Network (CW39), soon grew to three shows in Houston and the launch of Newsfix in Dallas and Miami. Ky led the first all-female producer team through the launch and made broadcast news history. Not long after Newsfix invaded millions of television sets, Ky took her love for music, arts, and dance and rolled out the first TV segment for creatives in Houston. The popular Tuned In with Ky Meyer aired weekly on CW39. During its nearly seven year run, Ky made a name for herself as the first female host on Newsfix and the first broadcast journalist to show major love to southern bands, rappers and artists of all mediums. Ky was also the television producer behind the highly regarded Bun's Beat segment that aired weekly on Newsfix. It featured celebrity host Bun B of the legendary hip hop duo Underground Kingz.
Ky's undeniable passion helped elevate creatives around the world to push the envelop. After nearly two decades in television and launching six shows in three major TV markets, Ky knew it was time to break ground on a new venture as her own boss and multi-media leader.
In 2016, Ky founded Kollective Media, a full-service, creative marketing and content agency located in the heart of Downtown Houston. You can find Ky in her element as a creative visionary and producer of projects spanning the country, involving digital and immersive experiences through music, art, film, and fashion.
Ky is also a proud member of the Recording Academy, and honors the opportunity to cast her vote for Grammy nominees each year.
Ky’s hope is that her journey helps empower anyone (especially women) looking outside the box to create the life they want.
